Exactly - give us a 14-140 in f2.8 and we will love them forever.
Until that happens, who cares about all this hyperbole about "high optical quality"? Seems like thats standard hype for all lenses nowadays.
I agree, a fast 14-140 is very important - and one with image quality at least comparable to the 100-300, and which zooms smoothly and does not bind like all of the 100-300s I’ve tried. However, it looks like the emphasis is on small size and light weight, which precludes the faster apertures.
Maybe some of the other companies will come through. If it's not a 2.8 or faster I'm totally not intersted as it's not possible to shoot indoors unless you are bringing lighting or it's a totally wide open space with tons of like. it's amazing how much of a difference a 2.8 makes. It's certainly why so many expensive zooms are that or faster. Something that's a 2 would be killer...
