ROXOR-Filmpower integration 3-axis Stabilization VS DJI Osmo

the impression i'm getting from this very poor product launch is that they are really unsure of whether it will perform 'good enough' and are afraid to really show anything. I surely hope i'm wrong, but they're really leaving us no choice but to expect something negative

There are other choices. One of them is called "patience". (....there are many others....like move along if the timing of their launch doesn't match your needs)

I honestly have no idea what this product is going to turn out like. It may simply be terrible. (That is entirely possible) So...maybe I'll be selling mine or something else.

What I do find increasingly irritating is the pushy, entitled, impatient customer that is emerging from the indie film maker community. Really guys? This is a $200 dollar product that was announced 2 months ago. There are a whole host of tech companies that have charged more, promised more, and delivered less (zero....zilch...nada) than what's happening with this product. So....CHILL OUT. If you had received the product and had paid some crazy amount of money....or you had many options available for a similar price.....whatever. This is the first in this range...and it has been a couple of months. If the timing, or color, or cost, or perceived quality isn't for you.....then simply move along. So many great things happening. Find one you need and enjoy yourself.

One other note....I'm not saying that I LIKE their approach with the launch of this product. That said....I've been watching several other "break through" products....and they have taken MUCH MUCH MUCH longer (some of them years). So....although I'm not crazy about the approach, I've seen MUCH MUCH MUCH worse.

Considering it's now $400 and there is no detailed specs or any footage but yet they are shipping this product is pretty ignorant.

I propose a simple solution: don't buy it. Find a solution that fits your needs. Anyone on board at this stage is an "early adopter". Usually not the safest path...(I completely anticipated a certain amount of risk/shortcoming as a product). Folks like me will get the product and post footy. Wait until well into that phase. And yes....the current price ($400) introduces even more risk (double). So....wait until the proven results show they are worth $400 to you. (no sarcasm on any of this at all).

Cheers and good luck. I hope this works out (for my own sake...and the other early adopters).

Iriszhang I think that Filmpower needs to come up with some explanation of why the 4k is 15fps since it wasn't sold as that, also put the real final specs including audio since all the information about the product at this time are not clear and people are beginning to lose their face in this product and company. All the early adopters that purchase the product thought that the Roxor was a great camera as advertised but trusting the published information since the product didn't exist at the time we all bought it. Also we need to know if Filmpower will be able to upgrade the firmware of the camera so it can record truly 4k @ 30fps.

Where was it made definitive about 4k topping out at 15fps? If that's true then mine and a whole heap of others are going to get returned. Advertising a resolution without disclosing its less than 24fps is quite considered false advertising in this industry

The 4K video they uploaded to YouTube is 10 fps. I have a feeling this is why they never released detailed specs (and still haven't). Haha, wow...

For $400 (as the pre-order price is over), you can get a 4K camera and a Feiyu gimbal for less. There's virtually no reason to even buy the Roxor.

Price performance becomes an important issue. The Roxor is $399 and the Osmo is $629 at B&H. I think many (most?) people will be willing to spend the extra $230 for the Osmo which can do 24fps at 4K. The Roxor might be compelling at $199 but at the non pre order price there's competing products with more flexibility in similar price range.

Here's the Roxor 4K showing the low frame rate.

720 at 120fps slo mo. The codec looks extremely "crunchy"

1080p60 good sky detail at the cost of some severely crushed blacks.

If it is, indeed, the final functionality of the camera....to shoot anything less than 24FPS at 4K, it will be a DEAL BREAKER for many.
For those of us who pre-ordered, this would be an example of the risks incurred when being an early adopter. 1080P with the gimbal at $200....It'll be fine for me. I totally agree that at $400....I wouldn't bite (at less than 24FPS). I'd just go the extra couple hundred for full 4K (DJI OSMO). Additionally, I'd say that several people explicitly ASKED if it was 4K 24FPS or better. That I saw...they never answered one way or the other. I noted that....and took the risk. Fair enough.

Folks producing ROXOR...note this to yourselves. This will be a DEAL BREAKER for many. Clarify now....it will only get worse if you don't.

What is the max frame rate at 4K resolution?
