This thread...another example of entitlement from an ever increasing volume of people. Many (if not all) of which have NEVER manufactured a product in their lives.
NOBODY is holding a gun to your head forcing you to buy ANYTHING. And NOBODY owes each and everyone of the naysayers here ANYTHING.
You don't like the way things the people at Filmpower or whatever are conducting business, then DON'T buy their product or pay any attention to their product. It's just that simple. It really is......They too, are just people trying to make a buck of a product.

And the address to your industrial space or studio is where?
Really? So you have no problem with a company misleading potential customers about the nature of the company and the capabilities of a product in order to encourage preorders? As long as they are just trying to make a buck, anything goes?

dusty, i'm surprised you're coming to the aide of filmpower on this. have you even kept up on this thread and what has been going on? This isn't people clamoring for more than what's being advertised, this is a company legitimately not being strait about a product they are taking in money for. Your stance seems to be that we should all be kumbaya because it's a preorder situation and we don't have to buy it if we don't feel right about it and thus no reason to raise red flags. But you're really going to stand by your opinion that no one should be calling out a company that does something unscrupulous?
For those who aren't up to date: Filmpower had always been advertising this product as "4k video"(among other things), and despite many folks requesting framerates from them, they only kept repeating the same marketing jargon in sidestep. Had they been strait from the start, there wouldn't be such a discussion, but to add salt to the situation, the early reports of the rest of the functionality don't hold much sunshine
And to any who believe that, 4k @ 10fps is still technically video, then i'd love to know where exactly your line is between video vs just a series of pictures. Last i checked, there is no standard of 'video' recognized that's less than 24fps.
Here's hoping that filmpower turns this around, in the end if they turn out a good product then praise be the flying spaghetti monster.
and no i don't currently have an industrial or studio space. but last i checked, i'm also not a product manufacturer, nor advertising to clients that i can shoot 4k with the unmentioned stipulation that i can only record at 10fps. i'm sure that would be a fun client rough cut viewing...
So mines finally arrived today, unfortunately I cannot share any sample footage as originally planned. The box it came was cracked into pieces, and the gimbal does not seem to calibrate correctly, it appears to struggle and twitch at times. And when it finally does work it looks like this.

And the condition of the box, when it arrived at my doorsteps:

Coming to the aid? I'm saying MOVE ON. All sorts of other options out there. Look elsewhere.
When I say, "They are just trying to make a buck". It's not to excuse them. It's too say that people (companies) will make promises and hopefuls and willingly take YOUR dollars and without proof of concept. Much less a viable and TANGIBLE product. And YOU all fell for it.
Basically, let them (film power, and other companies) fail on their own. It's one thing to show interest in their proposal. It's fine to root for their success. But these days preordering on such devices based off renderings and some specs, and in some cases limited examples with footage, has just gotten out of hand. And there are plenty of examples of it from far bigger companies. Shipping products with features advertised that don't ship with the camera (or device) and sometimes take up to a year to add that often fall short of the original idea.
Call me old fashioned, but I like a product that revealed post concept and in actual working and tangible order. From the get go. Show me what you have and examples from it that can be purchased immediately if it fits my business model and budget. Even if you have 50 of them produced and ready to sell, if I want to acquire it, then and only then will I take a number and get in line. No more "shipping in July" or "take a look at these numbers and our cartoon drawing" dealings.
For me it's hard to get upset over a product that once revealed, didn't even exist outside of a computer rendering, some specifications, and the ability to drop money down on it. Especially one that coincided with a product launch of a device identical to it. But at a 1/4 of the price. First learn this as it will take you far. BUY CHEAP, BUY TWICE. And this one is the cheap one and will lead to you buying a better one that costs a bit more. Usually, it's the one you should have bought in the first place.... Anybody guilty of that? I am.
Do we want to deal with these types of companies and practice anymore? Not me. Show me the working unit and I'll give you the money. Until then, take a look or interest, and if the company goes about business this way I suggest moving on until they prove otherwise.
So Filmpower. Or whatever your company is called. The Roxor. Yep, you are screwing your own pooch here over and over and over. If you want to succeed and compete with all the offerings available or devices yet to come, you might wanna re-evaluate your business model and practice. Maybe start with enhancing your companies communication skill level.
Look. I'll end it on this. Remember that joke? "How do you keep an ass-hole in suspense"......
Derek, box may be the result of turbulence in transit. You can contact our after-sales personnel, they will send you a new box.
About the ROXOR appears to struggle and twitch at times.
First, may be due to beyond using angle, angle limit within ±45°,more than this angle the gimbal will shake.
Second, if the angle within ±45°, and the gimbal was still shaking. Then you could calibrate the ACC-gyroscope sensor.
Please sent mail to our after-sales personnel, they will help you to slove the problem. Email: support@filmpower.com
