Thanks Neil, I ll be off to the depot then to get the platform and rails. I would also like to see pics of people's set ups. Footage too would be nice.

ill leave it to others to show it all decked out being ridden. i dont have time or reason to take BTS pics on the shoots ive been doing lately. :)

Kick Ass! I appreciate the prompt service. Now if only certain "actors" were as dependable.
What are the dimensions on the pictured platform 2'x 4' approx? Did you suggest 1" rails?
Thanks again!

yeah, one inch rails. the dolly in the above pic is 28" x 48" ..doorway dolly size. fits through doorways with the door still on.

..actors are never dependable unless their heads are also still able to fit through doorways without taking the door off, or they are actually real actors commited to their craft. the second is a rare breed to find in the independent world. look long and hard and it will all be worth it.. .. oh the beauty of open casting.

I just placed my order for the dolly kit, tonight. I'm wondering how long it'll take to get my hands on this puppy. Thanks!

peanutz. i just got back in ..was out of town. your order should be shipping this mon (tommorow) or tues. im not sure how long it will take due to your location, but thats when it will go out. i believe others headed that direction have taken up to about a week or so due to customs and all. thanks for the order, and happy shooting!

No, worries. Thank you for the quick reply. I'll be looking forward to my set in the mail. :->

Nice! I'll be more than happy if they'll be here by the beginning of next week. Til then, I guess I'll just have to wait.

Just to let you know that I received the dolly, built it in no time and used it on Saturday for my shoot. It worked like a charm. Great product!! The track couplers were a handy addition.

I'm just wondering on the status of the dolly I ordered. I ordered it October 26th, and as of today (Nov. 7th), I have yet to recieve it.

bollingerpro, i sent you a PM in reply to your PM.

Backlot rebels, your order shipped out on the 29th fully insured with signature required for delivery. ..it takes a while to go through customs and all that jazz, but it was sent out with pretty speedy shipping and all so it should be there any day now. :)

hooligan, glad we could get it out to you quickly for the shoot. hope it all went well. yeah, the track connectors are nice for a quick setup. happy shooting!

I just purchased a skycrane for some boom camera work and need a wheelset for it. I don't have your skate wheel dolly set up (wish I found yours first) but I do have a similar system that rides on 2" PVC. The wheels are through-bolted on the three corners of that dolly which, like yours, rides on track. Is there any reason I can't remove those angled whees and bolt on three castertype wheels thereby using the same frame for my crane dolly work that I do for track dolly. If so, do you sell such a setup?

the design is pretty finalized aside from the hinge mechanism. some things tried are too weak/not durable over time and usage.. some too ugly/ but strong, and some just some too expensive. so im taking the time to get it right. i wnted to have them out by the end of the month, but that doesnt look too good right now. Im revamping my thinking on it to explore some other possibilities and see if something doesnt pan out yet in time. im not worried about a quick timeline though.. im more concerned with having something sold on release.

Track Assembly

Track Assembly

Hi all,

I read through this thread and could not find any specific descriptions of how to assemble the track (using pvc). Will anyone post their experiences/method of doing this? ..parts, tips, etc.

thanks,
Imari
