RoweCine Dolly kits now for sale!

no problem brian, weve been working to build up advance stock of the kits for faster delivery after an order comes in. soon we plan on being built up to the point where any kit ordered ships out the next day. happy shooting!

good tips tbanuci! we hope that our new fully constructed dollies will take even more hassle out!

When are you planning on having the full dolly kits available for order? What will it all include and what will the price with shipping be? If I order one of your standard 24 wheel kits with the handle how soon can you ship it out?

Thanks

hi Neil,

could you provide some pictures of your PVC link kit? I'm convinced of the quality of the dolly kit, but I'm very interested to see what you're doing to link the PVC without significant seams.

thanks,

_alex

turing, Neil sends out metal pipe nipples that screw into the inside of the PVC. My trouble is that I have not been able to find PVC that they will fit into. The connectors easily slide in and out of the PVC that I've been able to find so far.

I believe the ones that ship with the dolly rails are 3/4", so I'm trying to find 3/4" PVC rated at a higher PSI (so it will have a smaller inside diameter).

.. :) sorry. i wasnt remembering that users can specify how many posts per page are shown.. its on MY page 6.. but likely not on yours. anyhow, heres a link to the post/pic:

Owen, get the standard issue high pressure 1" JM or JMP type pvc. almost every major hardware/building supply store should have it. Home Depot, Menards Lowes ect.. The connectors will fit perfectly into it after threading them with the end cap tap. usually theres a section right next to the regular pcv section with the high pressure version.

specifically, the type i generally purchase is (printed on pvc):

JM Pipe 1" PVC 1120 SCH 40 450 PSI NSF-pw ASTM D1785 JM 9078 (dates here)

..although ive used a number of various 1" JM/JMP type pvc with no issues.
hope this helps. happy shooting guys!

ah ok

so you're force-threading the PVC with the end caps and then using these threaded aliminum or steel tubes with an outside diameter that's the same as the inside diameter of the PVC?

so you're screwing your track together. man no wonder it takes time. but it's also secure and a nice accurate way to get a seamless join. if you sanded the joined ends it would probably be even nicer :)

can you point to a part number for the threaded metal bits?

if not, whatever, I'll stop by the homeless despot later today and see what I can wrangle.

if I'm convinced i'll order your wheelz ;)

yep, thats a pretty accurate description of how it works. theres more elaborate instructions for doing it in the Cine Dolly manuals as well.

However it really doesnt take any time to make a seamless track joint once you have them prepped. on average it takes me about 10-15 seconds per joint to assure a nice smooth transition.

i dont have a part number off hand, but if your getting them from a regular retailer, pick up some galvanized steel 3/4" thread to thread pipe nipples(they are all threads, with no flat pipe section inbetween. half of it threads one way.. the other half threads the other way). and of course an end cap of the same size. should be in the plumbing section. happy shooting!

Hello all!
Here´s the description of "How to built it" for spanish people (or metric system people)

1' = 12 '' = 30, 48 cms.
1'' = 2,54 cms.

Saludos a todos.

Uncle Pepe on the dolly... typical spanish!

Ok!, Hope this helps to the people, like me, that Shakespeare´s language isn´t our original "installed language" :-)

Oscar

P.D.:Just a doubt!, How to use the PVC connectors???

Por cierto, ¿de cuántas ruedas es? ¿Vale la pena el mango? ¿como juntas los tubos de PVC ?

He he he he... uncle Pepe is different... like Spain... :-)

It´s 32 wheels kit (smoother without doubt)

En cuánto a "como juntar los tubos", ¿te refieres a cómo hago para mantenerlos alineados o a cómo hago para empalmar dos?

Best regards!

TMFilms,

Your order should be shipping out on Monday, so it shouldnt be too long of a wait. Thanks for the purchase, and Happy shooting!

..hey thanks for the spanish translation there DEHON! i never thought about translating the manual although we ship plenty of units out of the states. Its always interesting seeing what new countries the Rowe Cine Cine Dolly will make its debut in with each shipment. It looks like you,ve been seeing if the "doorway dolly" lives up to its name. :)

Neil,

I apologize if I'm asking a question you've seen before, but 30 pages of material can take some serious time to navigate.

I love the wheels & mounts, but I'm not looking to build a sled dolly, rather a new High Hat type dolly. (I've used mine for years, but it's time to rebuild and modify)

My question:
Can I somehow mount your wheels on a platform that will probably be 24 inches by 20 inches? I basically want a shorter version of what you currently offer. High hat dolly's are so quick and beautiful that I think this would be another great opportunity for you to market. This will be running on 1 1/4 Speedrail.

Thanks in advance, great product!

XanderDP,

No Problem. We actually already offer a solution for this. We offer 16, 24, and 32 wheel kits in the 1 foot rail option. Using the 1' rails you could simply mount them to a smaller platform and place them closer together. This is really what they are designed for. You could of course also use them on a dolly as big as you want, but you loose the sleek look and support of the standard full length four foot rails. for standard doorway dollies we always reccomend the four foot kits, they are stronger, safer, easier to mount, and look nicer as they fit the dolly perfectly.

Alot of people ask what the one foot kit is. well, instead of having 2 four foot long rails with the wheels at each end, the one foot kits have 4 one foot rails with wheels on them. its easy to picture if you imagine simply cutting the last foot off of each end of the 2 four foot rails . you would have four one foot sections with the wheels on them. Using these your dolly can be as short as 2 feet if you placed them end to end. i believe there is a picture here of an early design 1' kit Cine Dolly which although old, can help clarify. when i have time il try to update the order page to clearly show the difference as well:

http://www.rowecine.com/4-wheel%20package%20web.JPG

anyhow, if it is just a small high hat type dolly im sure youd be fine with a 16 wheel kit, but the 24's are nice as well if you should decide to add some pretty signifigant weight to it for smoother movement.

thanks for the inquiry and happy shooting!

Thanks for the great reply Neil. That solution will work great, you'll be getting a call from me very soon.

I'll try to post a picture of my dolly as reference, but we're both on the same page.

Thanks again!

Neil, I just ordered the 32 wheel, 4' rails with handle. Please let me know that you have received this order. Is there any possibility of receiving the order by the first weekend of june? Sorry for the pressure, but I just got an immediate job where I'm traveling from California to North Carolina to shoot and wanted to be able to use it right away upon arrival (and I only have a shooting window of a week). I used a corporate credit card, so if there are any problems please let me know ASAP so we can resolve any issues. I can't wait to use your system, especially after all the amazing reviews from fellow dvxers.

thank you so much,
Adrian Bardet
