Routine Maintenance/Service

I bought the DVX100A a few months ago, have used it sparingly, but have loaned it to a few friends, not sure how many hours they have used it. I'm worried that it's past due for some regular service. Barry, I read you post on cleaning the heads, thanks for adding that, it's great, and I plan cleaning those. But should I take this to an authorized service shop on a regular basis??? And if so, anyone know a place in NYC where I can do this. Thanks. Love the site.

Heh, those must be some very good friends, indeed :o

You can go to the menus and find the hours used.

Don't know about service in NYC..

I had a good experience with The Video Clinic in Santa Monica. My dvx took a dive and I had to replace the focus ring. They were able to fix it in 1 day and a half - in time for my shoot (I believe they charged me more for the rush job, but they totally saved the day.

i hate to be a nag BUT spydrman, you have posted 15 messages on dvxuser and 6 of them have been blatant plugs for the same dvx repair center.

maybe i'm wrong but i hate it when someone posts repeatedly posts recommending a product or company without disclosing any interest they might have in the company.

i post recommending companies all the time and on the very rare occasion i have any direct connection to the company i come right out and say so.

so i apologize if i'm wrong, but if this is your company its pretty lame to be looking for every and any opportunity to push it without admitting any connection.
