Roundtable Discussion - Settings to look like the Sunday Morning Political Shows

I'm working on a set this weekend for a mock political shoot. I'm doing a little bit of everything from set building to gaffing to camera tests. The shoot is very much like Bill Maher's 'Politically Incorrect' except it is with made up news and it is being done by improv actors working off each other. The set up is a host with four guests. The lights were all set up and the set was built today. There are six DVX's shooting it and the scene file setting have to match. I was working with the director who was unfamiliar with the DVX and cycling through the settings for him while explaining them as best I could (which is probably okay). I gave him my input as to what I thought worked and what I thought didn't. HE was willing to listen and took some of my advice.

So my question is if you had to set the scene file settings to try and match the Sunday political shows (which is how I would light and shoot it but it may not neccesarily be the director's view) what scene file settings would you use? We are shooting 60i.

Thanks,
Alex

I would crank chroma up just a little maybe to +1 - keep master ped relatively high since I dont think they would crush the blacks. I normally crank detail down but this should look crisp so mayb somewhere between -1 and +1

Yeah, you want the "video" look as much as possible, so obviously shoot 60i, obviously shoot with NORM gamma, and leave most of the other settings alone; maybe add a little chroma and a little detail but not a lot.
