Round 9 - DVXUser Photography Challenge

I didin't have time to work on my idea but I submitted a shot from this week :(
Bring on the epic one!

:)

OK, photos are up and if you submitted one then it is up and available for voting and commenting at www.stffilms.com/Photos

I am going to be removing the verification on the server for new registrations but the first time something goes out of wack then it will be reinstated.

If you have any questions please let me know!

Jeremy

Also, the photos this round are simply amazing.

When you look at the open theme of the contest you really see a wide ranging diversity of what people are interested in when they can shoot anything they want. Just some amazing submissions.

By far the best yet, so congrats to everyone!

Cool. I'm having a good time just trying to figure out who shot each photo. And happy to be in the mix this round. :) Definitely a good variety here.

Oops! I guess I missed the deadline! Oh well... great photos everyone... some of the best so far!

Chad

Looking good this round folks! I'm hoping to have time to jump into the fray again on round 10!

DANGIT!

I've been studying for a Math Mid-term like mad and I totally forgot the deadline!

Only one I've missed so far.

- Mikko ... had a cool shot of a double rainbow too.

I agree with Horse, great to have you in this round (and an amazing submission).

A couple of things:

We will announce who did which image tomorrow (TUESDAY), but until then please go through and vote and comment on the images. I just commented on all 15 submissions and it took me under 10 minutes to complete.

Furthermore, look at the wide diversity of shots that we got this round with an open topic. After themes of Summertime, portrait, addiction, city life, motion, ect. we really see a different side of people from simply an open study. That is very cool to me and for those who have entered in the past I feel like I have learned more about each of you and your interests based off what you submitted without having bounderies. Very cool.

Otherwise this round will wrap up on Wednesday (for voting) and my goal is to announce the next round Wednesday for our EPIC ROUND TEN PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST.

Please take a few moments to vote and comment. Great job this round!

Thanks Horse and Jeremy--it's cool to be hangin with you guys again after my "sabbatical". I look forward to the epic round 10. I've got a strange feeling the theme is going to be foodity (food+nudity), but that may just be the mescaline and Jack talking.

How many mods do we need to be able to approve that topic because technically food and nudity are my two favorite things right now... or yesterday... or... I'm stopping now.

OK people, please go ahead and post your image here in the thread say which is yours and any comments that you would like to add regarding it.

Here's mine :)

So I got home at 9 pm on Sunday and I had to go out again at 10 so I just put a white sheet over my couch and a dog over the sheet and that's it. Unfortunetly I only had a single 1k projector with no defuser and no time for proper keying so that explains the shadow on right.

About the ball, I just can't take credit for that, the dog got it between shots :)

Here are some other shots I like:

I would've used the one in the middle but I didn't like the fact that you can't see the left eye clearly :(

Here's mine... yeah, too dark, shoulda tweaked it some in PS. This is raw from the camera. First night I had my new camera too... (Just got my D50!) :)

I saw the sky and just went into the front yard to take it. My main reason for it was so that I could use it as a background for this email invitation:

Actually, rather than adjusting it in PS, you should have pushed up the ISO, set it on a tripod and used a slightly longer exposure.
