Round 13 - DVXUser Photography Contest - 11.29.06

Err...I never set the clock on my camera :(
The picture was taken the day I uploaded it.

Check the date on my previous entry, it's 5 days earlier.

Blast. This week is crazy and I don't have time to do post work on my image. I'm going to have to sit this round out.

I don't have anything right now... I'll see what I can do. (I usually wait until the last minute anyway)

Yeah, totally lame I know. But I'm out of this one too.
Just too damn busy trying to graduate.

- Mikko ... school comes first.

I missed out too. :( We had a winter storm come through and lost power before I could upload. Sorry guys. Off to work on Round 14.

I just went through and commented on the images. So man very professional, polished looking images this time around that I'm struggling figuring out what to rank where...

Yet another great selection of photographs.

Unlike last time though, when I was sure which won would win, this time I'm not sure at all. I'm curious to see what everyone else thinks of them.

These contests are so much fun, thanks for putting it altogether.

Honestly, I think that this is the most 'professional' batch of photographs submitted yet. I think that voting is going to be really tight and there is going to be a small margin of victory.

Great contest, guys. I had a lot of fun on this one. As was done in the past, I thought it would be interesting to explain some of the work behind the images.

Here's my first one:

Some had mentioned maybe it was HDR or a polarizer...but alas it was neither. I actually just played with the levels and saturation in photoshop. I think I got lucky with this one, because I've tried to do it on other pictures and when I boost the saturation too much everything becomes either too muddy or the colors are too weird. This time I think it worked out well.

Here's my second:

I did the same general thing with this image as the one above. Adjust levels and shadow detail, boost contrast a little and boost the saturation a tad. The overall concensus was that this picture would have been better had the grass not been blurred. I agree. But unfortunately, that's what happens when you're taking a picture from a car going 60 MPH.

All in all it was a fun contest. I've always appreciated the rule of thirds, so it's nice to try and perfect the compositions.

Thanks for the votes and comments, guys.

Speed limits are unknown to my country :D.
Beatiful, I almost made it to the top. 4th place with the christmas pic. Which it was as it came from the camera no photoshop.

That pic was great. Great composition and loved the narrow DOF. Beautiful.

Speed limits are unknown to my country too, that's my first ticket and it's a $3 fine :D
