"Rough Morning" (action/comedy short) Brevis, DVX100b

I enjoyed it. Visually the colors looked nice, looks like you know what you need to focus on though. Pretty cool first short, creative use of the camera angles, the sound effects were good but a little more time spent on them would make it even better, it just seemed a little choppy to me. Also, don't spell your name wrong in your films :) There's my two cents. Go texas!

the whip pans look really good. can you explain the process of creating them? is it just a case of cranking the tripod arm really fast and smooth but at a constant speed? and do you just use a dissolve transition to link them together?

Looks pretty good. I did see a little vignetting here and there, but overall, the brevis looked great. I also liked the quick whips at the begining... Yeah, sound effects were a tad over the top for my liking, but like you said, it was just for fun.

On another note, may I please have your sisters phone number? Thanks. Just PM me with it... Austins only a couple hours from me:thumbsup::engel017:

You have some nice shots in there(especially when she's in bed), and the whip pans can be really cool. Though it would demand a little more precise timing on the actors movement(looks like she is sometimes waiting for the "go") and faster cuts to get the nice consistant flow. But I know you did this for fun, so good job :)

Dude, ignore what I said about the stalling on the actor after the pan, I was watching without sound(sucky pc) and I didnt catch on to the parody of it then. But I watched it with sound now and it makes more sense :) A little tip though, at the first three shots(when she is in bed), add might want to concider adding some transitions to the soundclips, I can hear it "clipping" between shots :)

What if i didnt no what a Brevis was?

Well i somehow got to this thread and i didnt look at the title, guess i should look next time.

First post here and I wanted to say that your footage was great! I really enjoyed it. The only thing that kind of bugged me was the hesitation when she was putting her pants, shoes on, then opening the door- it was a tad bit too long for my taste, but I was really impressed with everything else.

BTW, could someone tell me what vignetting is? I know its such a noob question, but I'm not exactly sure what it is.

Vignetting is the result of uneven distribution of light across the image resulting in darker edges.

And that's a bad thing? lol. Would you say most of the vignetting occured in the house cuz after playing it back twice that's what I'm assuming unless I'm mistaken.
