rough cut of opening credits & a scene from new feature

Looking good. Love the "green" in that scene... and still looking forward to seeing the final cut.
 
Thanks man. I think I went a little far with the green, but you get the idea. I'm trying to go for a depressing green institution, instead of the blue-sterile.

I hope to have a cut by October. My producers will then do the festival push, and I guess we'll see where it all takes us.

In the meantime, the web-site will soon be developed, and there should be more than 'rough clips' to look at and view.

very entertaining. great music selection. and the editing was damn good. Question: Why are you listing out every credit in your movie at the beginning?
 
unless you can add lighting to the rough cut later in post, im kind of disappointed in the effort of all those people being wasted on a DVX , underlit none the less. seems that a little more should have gone into the equipment before shooting, everything else is good though, editing wise.
 
My guess is that the scenes were shot with more than enough light, then levels were brought down in whatever editor was used.

I opened the quicktime file up in final cut and raised the mids with the 3 way colour corrector, and found that all the detail was there, and it brightened quite well.

It seems that the darkened look was a style choice. I'd say as far as computer monitors are concerned, it's a little too dark on the faces. Maybe it's leveled for TV?

Great job overall by the way. I look forward to seeing more. Hopefully Ibid does well at the festivals, and maybe if it doesn't mess with any admission rules we'll get the opportunity to view the final edit when it's done.

The credits. Well, the style and tone of the picture is very much 70's, so we, or maybe just I, decided to commit 100% to that idea. Thus, old style, up front credits.

The lighting. Everything inside was shot between F4-F5.8, and there truly is more than enough light, though my computer screen and most I'm sure don't do it justice. Played back on my monitor (yes, calibrated) it's nearly 2-2 1/2 stops brighter than the quicktime.

As well, and though you can't see it here, the light in this "institution" has a purposefully stark contrast to what will be seen in the rest of the film which is a bright, nearly always sunny, desert road picture. Thus, I wanted this place to, as goofy as it is, truly feel like a place that one would escape from.

I liked the intro!
I would change a graphic after chris says "F you" I would put the productions name in the bottom left of the screen instead of over his face. the music was cool
