Yo check it out. New dvx music video. I am not looking for a musical critique, but the visual aspect is completely up for harsh criticism. I need more eyes to look at this project. Gimme time signature on the biggest muffs.

fu*kin greet! yeah i liked it, the raw harsh bleeding lights, reflections all over the place, the guy screaming in the car is money..its packs a punch, well edited, creative. The band will be smiling i bet.

aight watched it...i tried hard to find stuff to critique but i cant really find any ...or much:) so i guess thats good. the lighting on 2.45 is not consistent with the rest of the vid. it was kinda wierd for me but thats a huge knit pick just cuz i'm trying to find something. What i will say is that while i always like ur work (no kiss ass thing..but really) because i basically see evrything uve posted i see you painting urself into a type or style with ur music vids. while everyone of them is sick! they are all starting to look the same. i know people have styles and signitures which is good...but a balance in style and fresh ideas is good to keep people interested. i can imagine maybe cuz these are low budget vids, so the funds to do what u really wud wanna do is limited....i duno. this is just cuz i see alot of ur work though...to a newcomer it really is a sick vid.

couple questions:

In ur short that u DP the other day the lens flares where real...i imagine that these are real also...but how do u get them so pronounced...i can understand the high output lights...but like the floros in the roof?? dang....how is that? u put an effect on that? they really are good looking flares man.

and the camera jerk at 00.46 as if the notes that was played hit the camera down. howd u do that? just normal handheld? i luved it :D

editing and pace and blah blah were all good. :)

its not an easy thing to do, to make a good music vid, low budget with the band performing in some room / space and keep ya interested for 3mins and not think its the same sh&t again.

Yea. you caught me. This is the 4th video I have done for the band hoods. It's the same band. I really wanna get some narrative stuff going, but that's not really my call. You gotta remember that the video that got me doing there hardcore videos was an acoustic singer songwriter. I'm not that worried about gettin painted into a corner.
Yea that camera jerk was in camera, but it worked out nicely. Those streaks/flares are real. all organic. Thanks everyone.

man those flares...had to come back and say lol.

yeh well if its not ur call its not ...just cuz i see when u work on narrative stuff albeit few...but good. like that basketball one and the recent film...combining ur skill with some written stuff and boom! gold.

haahhahah. thanks jambredz. I was just the dp/editor on that horror short. I have a couple in preproduction, but I dunno when they are gonna make it past that.

What can I say... I love all your videos! You have a unique style and a great eye for these videos. Can't find anything wrong, but then again it's hard to concentrate with the dude in the hat screaming in my face!! LOL!!

Hate the music...love the video. Great job.

really great music video... seeing as i do music videos as well... there are acouple things i think you should do a little different..
1. shooting a hardcore band, usually is viewed by people that listen to hardcore. and whats a hardcore kid's favorite thing to do???? MOSH.. it will spice up your video to go to one of the bands live shows and light up the pit.. if the band is well known nothing looks cooler than people jumping on top of other people to sing it with the bands vocalist.

2. even though the video is great, try using some chromokeying while he is in the car. just grab your greenscreen and put it beside the window on the shots like at 1:18 it will give it a "real" feel.

other than that the video is amazing keep up the great work

Yea, I would love to do a crowd thing and stage a big show for the music video. But that band already had a moshing video shot on their last album.
