Rough Cut of Music Vid

i like the lighting and the song. losing the iris and B&W is a good thing. the singer looks great and has a wonderful voice. the pace of the opening shots (record player) could be a bit quicker.. it is 30sec before we even see the singer.. that seems a bit long. if this is for brodcast you should get into it quicker i think. the opening tilt seems way to long.. 10 sec. and i didn't really care for the shot of the hands opening the empty cupboard..

who is the group? her voice is quite mesmerizing and looks like she could be a star.

thanks for the comments - the signer is Rosey - up and coming talent - she is wonderful.

We do need to tighten it up a bit - the "cupboard" shot is really the opening of the speakres on the virtola record player - the next shot needs to overlap more so that you can see that the band is inside and the speakers were just opened.

where is the group from.. do you have a link for them? i would like to hear some more. :)

you should imagine this played on CMT.. the length of the opening probably wouldn't work juxtaposed with other videos or commercials. what do you think?
 
Smelni, this footage is great, I really like what you've done here - very simple, perfectly matches the mood of the song - not to mention Rosey is a FOXXX - the only thing that bugged me a little, and just a little, was when she said just lik a song keeps turning round, and you dissolve up the spinning wheel on the left of the screen - 1:15 - its too literal, I would either stay with the shot of her, then cut to a wheel, or just stay on the wheel the whole way through

I think you need an establishing (wide) shot of the entire band before you focus in on the lead singer. Looks really good though.
 
Really pro stuff there man. Looks fabulous.. and the band should totally be happy. I'd say the opening is a bit long but you could start anywhere.. and maybe just two second shots then fades to black or white.. would look sweet.

This camera is gonna be behind a lot of music videos.. Congrats!

I would reveal them a little earlier only because I think it's allows you to relate to them sooner. I find myself during the first half trying to figure out who he is.
But either way it's some good stuff. Well all your stuff seems to be good.

Nice art direction and concept, congratulations!

I would suggest a bit of color correction to give it even a more "Old" feel- a more yellowish tint maybe? How about trying to bring out the red of the girls lips?
 
The art direction is great, love the green and the reds of the wood. The Iris thingy is awful, especially because the rest of the video looks so good.
 
I downloaded this video a few days ago and forgot about it. Just watched it though!

I loved the look of it, you don't see many music videos like that, so it's a really unique style.

Plus, I pretty much fell in love with the talent when I saw it, so that always helps :)
