Rough Cut of H.A.R.D.

Hey everyone. As I promised, I have put a video up this weekend. I just used this video to test out the quality of the 24p and high shutter speeds. The turnout was excellent. I also got some good actors that are my age to play the characters in this little mini-movie. It was just made for fun and it is my first time filming with the camera after reading the manual. This is also just a quick rough cut of the movie, I still have to go back and change up the music and add a few sound effects and filters and maybe even color correc (if i can learn how). I just decided to post it before I went to sleep tonight anyway. Well, check it out by clicking the link below... but be warned there is adult language used in the movie...

Right on, man. Looks good.

Can you give me a rundown on:

1. What shutter speed and iris you were using. Were you full auto?

2. Walk me through your encoding settings. What size and quicktime settings did you use? The quality it really nice.

Thanks!

Life ain't easy, it is HARD!
;D
Life is pretty good if you are a highschool kid living in the suburb. ;)

Great job. Looking forward seeing the rest of the film.

Re: Rough Cut of H.A.R.D.

Thanks for the replies, this is still a rough cut though, it will be improved later today. Anyway, here is therundown on the settings:

1) The camera was on full manual in the 24pA setting. I adjusted a few scene settings such as detail to -4 and something else that I cant remember. The iris setting I cannot remember, because I changed it so much, but I might be able to look at it later. The shutter speed was 1/500 for the scene at the end where the car is chasing the kid, the rest is 24pA.

2) To encode I used Sorenson 3 codec at medium quality with a keyframe every 300 frames. I exported at 23.98 fps and set the size of the video to 480 * 220.

Thanks for the comments. Remember this was just for fun, I can't wait to start the real stuff!

Re: Rough Cut of H.A.R.D.

Did you use anamorphic lens? or just sqeeze? It looks very good.

???
How did u create the shakey effect? with the brite flash to the SUV

Re: Rough Cut of H.A.R.D.

That was pretty cool, i noticed your actors looking at the camera a lil bit though. Tell them to stop, or slap then. Tell them they will die!

Re: Rough Cut of H.A.R.D.

I will. This was just for fun, it wasnt a serious thing anyway. It was actually just to test out the camera. They are not real actors. hah. Anyway, the effect is a EARTHQUAKE effect by Joe's Filters i think.
