rotoscoping!!!

That was totally not what I was expecting. That was kinda cool. What was the original footage?

What steps did u take?

looks interesting...
I had a friend who did something similar this past fall. He took video of campus and then exported as frames and drew lines in photoshop. Definitely takes a while, but a cool effect.
Didn't they used to have a cartoon that was based off the premise of shooting live footage and then rotoscoping?

Rotoscoping has been used on a number of things but the most popular are the Richard Linklater films Waking Life and soon to be released A Scanner Darkly (which was shot on a DVX100) http://www.wakinglifemovie.com/ http://www.apple.com/trailers/warner_independent_pictures/a_scanner_darkly.html

Instead of exporting frames to photoshop and animating them one by one they used a program called Rotoshop created by Flat Black Films - http://www.flatblackfilms.com

They are supposedly looking for a distributor for the software and until that happens it doesn't look like theres a good solution aside from someone else writing software that does the same thing.

nah i did the export as frames and photosopped em.
But my heart wants to have eac frame printed, then Usin an old photo copier photo copy each frame in B$W and then re scan them. make them have that 3rd grade NYC public school 4th generation photocopied classroom materials look.

Thoes of you born and bred in NYC public school know what im talkign about.

Looks like the Take On Me video. Anyone remember A-Ha?
