Rotary Club Shooting

Hi forum members,

I have a videoshoot this Friday (7 April), Saturday & Sunday. On Friday, there will be a dinner & I'm expected to cover the dinner on Friday. On Saturday, it is a full-day involving videoshoot of many speeches throughout. On Sunday, it is just morning till about lunch time. All three days will be heldl in hotel ballroom. I'm using the DVX102AE (PAL) version that records in 50i & 25p.

In the past, I've shot using interlaced mode, but would like to explore shooting progressive, as the images are much clearer & crisp. & I would like to see how the results are compared to interlaced.

Since I'll be shooting mainly speeches over the 3 days, I've decided to placed my tripod near to the stage & shoot from there, without changing positions too much. I also plan to hook up my camera to a powersource & tape the cables with some gaupher tape to prevent people tripping over it. Is this a good arrangement?

Since I've never attended a talk/meeting organised by the Rotary Club, can any Rotary Club members here brief me on the protocol of Rotary Club members & how the meetings progresses generally. THat would be very helpful.

Any other issues I should be aware of in shooting speeches would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Oh, 1 more note I 4got to add is that most of the viewers who will be viewing my final DVD will most probably be watching it from a normal (interlaced) DVD player & interlaced TV. If I record the original footage in progressive using my DVX, will interlaced TVs render the video properly, or will there be jaggies in the video, because interlaced TVs can't handle progressive video?

Andrew
