FS7: Ronin MX and FS7? Will it fit? (even barely with small lens?)

Doubt it as you need extension arms to use on the normal Ronin. The only difference between M and MX is the cage for the top of the camera.

Remember that in general, manufacturers max weight specifications are for what would give you “barely acceptable performance.” To get high quality performance, you should back off those max weight specifications somewhat.

no, MX has higher payload too (10 vs 8lb)

I was told by a parts manufacturer that the payload is exactly the same unless you use the cage. If you use the cage it handles the balance a little better and can handle more weight. But you can't use the cage with an FS5 or FS7.

8lb vs 10lb is an information from DJI

Honestly the payload is not so important,
IT's more important to get the right balance before you power the motor.

FS7 and RoninM is doable, so I guess it can be done with the MX.
You can remove the handle and screen on the Sony FS7 and the weight get acceptable.
You will need a longer plate and you are good to go for small/lightweight wide lens
