Cool story bro...I pan to follow motion all the time and have never lost a shot to rolling shutter, but I don't make many bicycle against fence movies.
If you can't see that the F55's global shutter is awesome then.....

WTF. Not even a test. An exercise in self indulgence.
I pan to follow motion all the time and have never lost a shot to rolling shutter, but I don't make many bicycle against fence movies. I'm not trying to diss the technology. I think it's great there are cameras we can use when very specific types of shots require them.
It's just that if you have shot with a CCD camera there's nothing unique with regards to rolling shutter with a CMOS global shutter sensor. They behave the same in this respect.
There are other advantages but this test was on rolling shutter and I look upon it as just that. Enough said.
I don't pan like a teenage girl on Redbull, so the oak tree in the background stays nice and straight. Clearly we have different shooting styles. Like I said, it's a nice feature to have for the cases where you need to shoot something that might skew. I'm not dissing it-- I'm saying it's not something I've EVER lost a shot to, that's all.
I am a little confused though- doesn't RED offer a "motion" mount that changes their Rolling shutter into a global shutter?
