Roland new portable recorder R-26

From the rather sketchy specs and features, the TRS line in & XLR mic in certainly cant be used at the same time. I see one 1/8" mic in, but that appears to be incapable of being able to use it to feed a separate of tracks at the same time whilst using the XLR/TRS inputs. I see no 1/8" line in at all. I'll take a wait and see stance. May just be a more robust alternative for the POS H4n.... with many of the same limiatations.

Rick,
Looks to me like it can record via combo inputs, mini inputs and onboard mics simultaneously. Seemingly the only way you can access the six track recording. So..basically an H6N. Might be able to record XLR and TRS to separate tracks as well..when you read this:

"In addition to the onboard mics, the R-26 provides XLR/TRS inputs for up to six channels (three stereo) of simultaneous recording."

I think they would have used multi track everywhere if it were possible. Its just another stereo recorder with omni and uni onboard mics. Like the Dr 100 but you can record a mess with everything. Do the xlrs do line in?

That would certainly be nice. I wonder how stable the clock is?

The 1/4" plug probably acts as an line insert.

If anyone has used one of these it'd be great to hear about the noise floor performance...In my case, especially compared to the H4n which I have been quite disappointed with in that regard.

Any experiences with this yet? I was thinking... could this be a contender to challenge the NT4 for simple ambient recordings? I was looking to buy that microphone, but having reminded myself of the R-26s existence I might have to rethink my idea of not owning an external recorder. I mean... this could give me 2 different types of stereo recordings along with the xlr input possibility if needed.
