Samyang/Rokinon appears to be rehousing and cinevising their smashing 24/1.4, 35/1.4, and others, appearing to create a very real, very good budget alternative pro cine glass set.

I thought this was particularly interesting for the m43 crowd because:
1. We're generally budget-minded folk
2. The first lenses announced will be 8mm (fisheye), 14, 24, and 35. Decidedly on the wider end of the spectrum for APS-C and full frame, but right in that sweet spot of wide-to-normal/tele for us croppier folk.

Eager to see how they shake out

That’s very cool! The BlackMagic cinema camera guys will buy these up. The Rokinon 35mm T 1.5 CINE LENS FOR CANON VDSLR at B&H list for $549. Wow!

Interestingly Samyang appears to be producing versions that focus in opposite directions. I assume the Canon version focuses like cine glass, & Nikon the opposite. This should appeal to many users.

Seems they didn't extend the focus throw, which will limit some of the enthusiasism, but their pricing is so low many won't care.

I'd love to see no-holds-barred Pro version.

I think it said on their Facebook that all will focus in the same direction.
