I like this lens! .. little bit too expensive.. but when I try it in B&H I prefer to take this one first, instead of $500 35mm F1.4 ... I feel I will probably take 85mm F1.4 next,, and than, later get 35mm too :)

I hope to get some nice footage with this one soon, and I'll show you result here..

( Keep in mind: You need to TEST in in the store! First copy, I've got was too soft, so I change it in store immediately... this one is much better! )

Just look at the front glass, that's almost an fisheye.
But I guess it's not much of an issue on the FS100, just on a FF camera.

Didn't they have some issues with the lens design, one of the versions was quite delayed?

The 14mm certainly suffers from some really impressive distortion characteristics, i'd hate to have to correct for it. I don't know about the 24mm but having a front element like that doesn't necessarily mean it will create distortion. The 12mm i have here has a massive domed front element yet produces some of the most distortion free images i've seen.

I like that samyang are now offering cinema versions of some of their lenses - declicked at source. I remember also seeing one with focus teeth around too. I think this was on their Facebook page.

There's a great opportunity for someone like samyang to create some lovely manual lenses for us.

I look forward to hearing more about this one, 24mm f1.4 is a nice length/speed combination

cheers

I don't know, Frank.. I don't try it on FF.. ..but on FS-100 I don't see any distortion with it... Here a few screenshots, taken in 2.35:1 Aspect Ratio:

I specially take wide lens to use in this weekend shooting - I like this Aspect Ratio a lot ... .. and composition of the last one - is something I'm thinking to do in this film...
