GH2 Rokinon 24mm f/1.4 = How does it look on GH2?

The only thing I see is Panasonic lens has auto focus which I really do not use for Cinema and rarely do I take pictures so while that's good on the photo side not really a deciding factor. What I am MOST important with is bokeh, image quality.

Rokinon 24mm

or

Panasonic 25mm

I want to know which lens would be the best f for Videography on the GH2.
It's either the Rokinon or the Panasonic 25mm that I will be buying this week. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Any opinions are welcome
thanks

* I have no affiliation with this website at all, just found an amazing deal and wanted to post it. I initially was going to purchase the Panasonic Lens but I the form factor and minimum focsuing distance of this lens was the deal breaker. Even if the Panasonic lens is sharper I already own the Rokinon 85mm lens which I love and feel the 24mm lens will be a great addition especially at this price!

I have the 85mm Rokinon and love it. I haven't used it all that much and last time I examined it I noticed some dust had gotten onto my rear element. Still not seeing any image problems yet, but did a little investigating on it anyways. It turns out mine is not the only Rok with dust, guess it's a fairly common problem. Others have complained their dust issues are on the elements more internal in the lens, dust that would require a complete diassemble and thorough cleaning. My 85 Rok was under $300, so it doesn't bother me too much. If I had paid in the $500+ range.... I'd be seriously pissed though.

I understand, but really the only other manual lens I wanted cost more

$500 for a lens that cost $700 is an amazing deal. I shoot and edit and when I have some money left over I always buy gear. I had about $600 extra from a recent job and wanted a faster lens than my current 28mm f/2.8. So yeah $500+ might seem like money, but when compared to other lenses that cost a lot more + when you work in this field on any professional level you need to start using better tools and of course continue to upgrade....

I will report later this week how it looks on My GH2.

If you don't care about auto-focus, then I personally would probably go for the lens with the iris ring on it (something EVERY lens should have).

Agree, 1000%. This is the main reason I sold my Sigma 28mm, while it is an excellent lens I did not want to control the aperture via an adapter. The Rokinon lenses can be controlled from the actual barrel so to me at least for how I currently work makes sense. Also I have decided to sell my old vintage lenses as I am slowly going away from the vintage look and like the image from modern lenses for the work I'm doing now.

I have a 50mm Nikkor AI lens that I loved, but recently I feel the image is a little to washed out and I have to mess around in post to much to bring it back to life. Rokinon 85mm on my GH2 looks beautiful and now I have decided to stay with ROkinon until I can upgrade to better lenses.
