Roger Nichols Plugins/Elemental Audio Plugins

Hi All,

For those that may have any information, I bought the RND plugins which were rebranded elemental audio plugins. Well something happened between Roger and Elemental and they all but disappeared. I just found out that Roger Nichols passed away from pancreatic cancer on April 9th. Its a pretty sad situation all around. But to the point of my post, since the plugins have not been updated in 3+ years, I'm assuming that at some point soon they just won't work anymore...so can anyone recommend a good replacement set that has similar functionality?

Thank you and prayers to Roger's family...

The plugins went into limbo when RN got in a fight with his partner and RN Digital went under a number of years ago.
The plugins should still work with the latest PT, don't know about the other flavors.

As to replacements. Nothing really does the same things. But Massey makes a limiter that I like better than the RN one and if you own any of Massey's plugins you can a little group of specialty plugins from him for free and one of those is a really nice metering plugin.
EQality is an EQ plugin that is a good replacement for the RN ones. It's not quite the same as either but people have liked it as a replacement. I haven't found a decent matching EQ and I haven't found any level based multi band limiter.

I use Rx and that has harmonic filtering so that is how I have that covered.

This is a poster boy example of the down side to software tools. Another option would be to get one of those boxes that let you install VST plugins and use them in a stand alone box.

Thank you! To what box are you referring that can run vst? Does that mean the plugs would never be obsolete? Thanks!

THere are one or two boxes that are stand alone VST hosts Muse Receptor and VMachine for instance.
