rods and follow focus

Hey,

I've been shooting with the D90 on a short film and it has become very apparent that any kind of fucus pulling is more than tricky. At least for me.

So what I'd like to know is recomendations for:

Rod system (rods? mount?)
follow focus
Whip

I'm looking to use this on the GH1 when it comes out and maybe a d400???
