GH5 Rode VideoMicro mic?

Hi, I'd like to buy a good mic for my GH5 but it has to be small like Rode VideoMicro. I'm not used to managing a camera to shoot videos and for this reason I like a small mic. But Rode VideoMicro is very cheap and I don't know if it will be useful because the GH5 has a fairly good internal microphone. In your opinion could Rode VideoMicro to give a better audio quality?

Then .... I have just noticed it is powered by the internal battery of GH5. Will be it a problem?
Some suggestions please?
Thanks

I have 2 I use all the time on my GH5. Will it compare to a high end mic? No. Does it produce far better audio than the internal mics? YES of course. It's a great little mic for scratch.

Thanks for your news. Is it mono? Right?
Can you tell me if it consume enoogh the GH5 battery? How long does the battery last less if you use Rode VideoMicro?

I use mine on a regular basis so I don't know the real difference in battery consumption but it does not seem to be very much based on battery life. The deadcat is great for outdoors and it is so light and small especially compared to the larger VideoMic. I find the quality much better than the internal mics and if you are fairly close to the source the quality is on par with the larger VideoMic.

A hiss will exist if the levels are too high in the camera.

Also, check this out...it's a more sensitive microphone, which allows lower levels hence less hiss:

I guess that would be my only complaint as the mic is too "hot" sometimes even when I use the lowest level in the GH5. I asked Rode sometime ago if they had an inline pad that could reduce the signal into the camera but at that time they didn't. As long as the recording is in the normal range I have never heard a hiss.

If it's too hot during your particular line of work/recordings even at the lowest setting in your camera then you definitely shouldn't hear a hiss...the VXR10 one above is even more sensitive!

OUT OF CURIOSITY, I'd like to know your thought: If you don't have to make any interview and if you don't have to rec. people's talks but only the enviroment sound as that of the jungle or bush, which would you use between Rode VideoMicro mic (mono) or internal GH5 mic (stereo)? Also keep in mind that in the documentaries often the enviroment sound is playing in the background (in post production), due to the voice over or the music.
