Rode stereo mic pro and a7s

Hi, as a learning progression project, I wish to make a solo short film/Christmas card staring myself and a micro copter. I have chosen (but not bought the røde stereo video mic pro as I want to get the sounds of the copter flying past the camera, and my talking will be secondary (I might get a smart phone lav for that). Anyway, I'll eventually get the tascam dr-70d but can't afford it now. All I want to know is if I buy this mic will it work fine if I plug it straight into the camera?

I used the same combo, Rode stereomic pro with A7s. You plug it in and the camera automatically switches from the onboard mic to the Rode.

That said, I HATED that mic and ended up selling it for the Videomic Pro Shotgun. Love it WAYYY more. The Stereomic was pretty good at capturing ambient audio but I would ALWAYS have some random background sound interfering with the audio I actually wanted to capture. The sound quality is very tinny and lacks bass. Honestly, the shotgun shits on it for anything besides capturing ambient audio in a closed space or maybe shooting music.
