FS7: rode ntg3 on fs7

The rode NTG2 fits well in the Sony FS7 microphone holder.

The NTG3 is thinner.

Now I use ducktape and spacers but with a dead cat on the microphone it can be seen in the upper corner of my wide angle lenses.

Anyone who has a solution for attaching this microphone on the FS7?

I'd suggest cutting a two inch section from an inner tube, and adding that to your gaffa tape surround. Should do the trick! - Jason

Maybe get something like a Rycote Lyre mount with the Camera Clamp Adaptor (or use the version that replaces the FS7 mic holder). I like Rycote Lyres (have several for my work as a location-audio guy)... Fairly inexpensive, good isolation...And for on camera use, they let you get your mic & softie higher to it's away from your frame.

More info on Rycote's camera mic mounts (with camera compatibility list at the bottom):

I've used rubber o rings on the mic before. Adds some insulation between the mic and camera mount.
