Rode NTG1 or NTG2

Since I have phantom power available, is there any significant difference in the polar pattern and response between the NTG1 and NTG2?
 
They're essentially the same mic. The difference is that the NTG-2 has a battery option.
 
The NTG-2 is longer than the NTG-1 and may hang over the front of a camera to appear in wide shots .. but it'll be easier to sell later on because of its battery option.

NTG 1 is cheaper .... NTG -2 with the power option, BUT if you use it a lot the battery compartment , the joint will get a bit loose, sometimes have a bit clip sound if you move your boom really aggrrassively, my NTG-2 is taped the battery compartment to make it silence, now become a longer NTG 1....
As long as you have phantom power.... it's the same. NTG-2 long nicer, but it s longer hahaha

I just bought the NTG-2 because I felt like I can use the mic during situations where I wouldn't have phantom power and it was only $20 more so it wasn't that bad of a difference.
