Here is an image I took today in the park with the kit lens.

I am up here for about a week. I'll continue to add.

If you wonder why nobody replies it's just because we are green with envy. Beautiful pics! Hope you shoot some video as well, you could make back the money through a stockshot site in no time.

Thanks for the comments. They're appreciated.

Here are two more from today.

BTW, I am taking videos, but I am new to the medium. I have been taking photographs since I was a teenager. For many years I shot 4x5. But video has been my kid's plays with a camcorder. Almost all my videos with the GH1 have been keeping the tripoded camera still and let the waterfall, or whatever, do the moving. When I pan it looks jerky. But I am having fun.

Today was certainly a waterfall day. Also a few wildflowers.

Here is a falling waterfall.

Here is a rapidly flowing rapids.

And now a flowering flower.

This is Colorado, afterall.

There is a Davis and Sanford model and a Monfrotto by Bogen both for around $70. My whole tripod only weighs a little under 3 pounds. I'm not sure it can handle the weight of a fluid head and the camera. I just got the tripod for hiking. I'd hate to get a new one.

Also, Google Shopping returned a lot of fluid sunscreen for my head as well. Not a bad idea on my hikes. I don't have much hair but I always ware a hat. Ah, the joys os searchology.

Today I was on Trail Ridge Road. Great views and I got to meet some of the locals.

I learned something interesting. I knew that mjpeg was limited to 2GB and that the length would depend on the size and how much the image changed. But I had no idea how much. On HD (720p) it usually takes segments of a bit over 8 minutes. I took a video of the clouds slowly changing over Longs Peak (see 1st image above). The video lasted over 21 minutes.
