hey friends,

Im about to start shooting a documentary for a friends band that will be released as a bonus dvd disc on their next album release. Im a little torn on what mode to shoot with on my dvx100.

I have lots of footage that was not shot 24p advance mode. for this kind of project should I just shoot f5 mode and edit in standard video timeline??

I'd appreciate any input greatly.

Not sure what your ging for here. Whats the setting? Like following them on live shows etc? If thats the case I would do something really edgy and shoot lots of handheld, with cam movement at 1/250 th shutter speed. Assuming you have plenty of light.

I have worked with a lot of bands like Ozzy Osbourne, Willie Neslon, Bootsy Collins, Peter Frampton and sometimes they give me footage from other cameras to edit into my footage and it wasnt shot at 24p. I lay there footage in and my last step before output is to drop a Nattress 24 frame filter on it. V2.5. it works great. I just onlined Jamie Kennedy MTV show "Blowin' Up" and all the helicopter footage was shot at 60i and would drop this filter on, render and then output to digibeta. Works great.

Sorry forget to tell you that I would use my setting in Scene 5 and use that in FCP that way the footage coming into the project would be in the 29.97 timeline and I had no problems
