Rob Zombie's Halloween II

So... anyone see it? Didn't see a thread.

I did. Unfortunately.

I feel like RZ has totally lost what it was that made Michael Myers who he was. That and he managed to butcher Loomis' character as well.

Don't get me started on how Michael managed to find these people wherever they went.
Even though they were driving from place to place in the middle of nowhere and he was on foot!

Michael also really seemed to have a fetish with destroying faces this go around.
Whether stabbing them, stomping on them, or smashing them into walls and mirrors. :zombie_smiley:

The acting bordered on annoying at times and RZ really has to keep his wife out of his films.
The ending was truly disappointing in more ways than one.

Bleh!

he would have been better off making Friday the 13th.

Rob Zombie has to make 5 good movies before i like him again.

Trash.

PS he remaking the blob. I hope he can find away to fit his wife into it.

she is the worst.

I was reading his comments about the blob on comingsoon.net and he basically said that he did not want the blob to be blob that attacks people. Now if I'm not mistaken, It's called THE BLOB.

he gonna make it suck so bad. like i said he has to make 5 good movies before i say hes a filmmaker again. till then he just stroking.

He isnt very good at what he does.. Wait yes he is!

RZ makes movies that arent good, they make lots of money and they make you fear the outside world. How many more times do I need to see a head get crushed or a face stabbed. Horror needs to go back to seeing less and letting your imagination create the rest of the picture. The first halloween was garbage anyways.

Remember The Shining? Everytime I go to school and go to my one class that is in some under construction side of the campus, I am all alone going down the long hallways. All I can think of is going around the corner and seeing those 2 girls looking at me. THATS CREEPY.

Do I worry that Michael is going to come after me with a shovel, no.

I hope you get my point

I was dissapointed to hear he was doing The Blob. Wish he would do his own thing as he's so creative. Devil's Rejects was great and he's a guy that I could see was getting better and better as a director.

His Halloween was alright so I'll probably check number two, not excited about it at all after seeing the trailer though.

I'm a HUGE horror movie fan, and of all slasher movies, "HALLOWEEN" is the holy grail for me. Close second is Friday the 13th. I hated both of Rob Zombies other movies, because they felt like Texas Chainsaw Massacre remakes with terrible plot twists. RZ has this thing about making sure the movie always ends with the bad guys on top. The good guys don't ever prosper.

I knew what I was getting into when I saw the first Halloween he did. I was appalled that he was even doing it in the first place. Sure enough, it was the same as all the rest of his trash. Same actors, same "style". RZ would be better off creating his own slasher character based on the crap he thinks up. He's so screwed up that if he did that, it might actually make for a decent gorefest. But, he took everything that made Halloween good and massacred it.

You shouldn't reimagine something thats already cult status like that. Either, remake it 100% or don't at all. Michael Myers was not a screwed up little kid. That was the beauty behind the original. He was ordinary, just like you and me. His family wasn't trailer park trash like RZ makes the families appear in every movie he makes. They were normal middle class people who worked blue collar jobs. They thought they were doing a great job raising their kids. Nothing they could have done would have changed Michael. He was just "evil". And thats what I liked about it. He didn't need to be abused or whatever.. he was just straight up evil.

The use of the F word about 12 times in the first 5 minutes.. nearly made me leave the theater. It just wasn't called for. I also was a little creeped out during the nude scenes with Jamie (last time I saw her in a movie she was what 10?) The fact that she was a totally different character in this one just made no sense to me.

I haven't seen part 2 yet.. but do not plan to watch it at the theater. I can't even really believe he did another one after the utter failure of the first. To be honest, neither of the remakes for my favorite slasher movies were any good. Friday the 13th had BAY written all over it. I mean, since when did Jason know how to rig up his own security lights?

I like Rob Zombie

I loved House of a 1000 Corpses and The Devils Rejects but his Halloween remake was beyond me. I have no desire to see H2 until it hits cable or DVD.

The Blob remake sounds fun; but hopefully he'll ditch the 70's thing and move forward.

well unlike most people it seems I was a big fan of the first RZ halloween. i LOVED it.

that being said, halloween 2 sucks. i hate that he used different actors to play the mother and the little boy version of michael meyers. the actors in the first one were way better, and its so soon after the first movie that I couldnt get past it.

another thing I noticed, is that when Michael was killing people int he past, he was silent. As if he so incredibly strong that it was effortless. in the new movie, you hear him breathing and really exerting himself with each kill, which adds more of a human aspect to him and actually made him less scary to me.

the white horse visions were retarded, i wish he didnt go there.

and finally, what he did to the character of loomis really pissed me off. loomis used to care about people, like his sister, and even michael himself. in this new movie, he's a total dick, who only cares about profiting off people's misery for the sales of his book. doesnt jive with me.

my two cents.

Caught half of the 80s version of The Blob the other night (haven't seen the whole thing in a while) and man it's a kick ass movie.
