Hey Guys!
Not sure how many of your are going to read this, but some of you may have seen my thread for my other film that I posted about here called MADISON COUNTY. Well, thankfully that film is about to secure distribution and will be out in theaters later this year, possibly early next. Madison County was not only a great experience, but it's opened a lot of doors for my team and I.
As Madison County was wrapping up post, I started getting a lot of questions about what I was doing next.. We had a couple of investors wanting to make Madison County 2 (but we didn't want to do that until the first one was released) and a few people were asking if I had projects I wanted to do. Honestly, the whole process seemed daunting to me. At this point, I had been living with Madison through pre, production, and post and I was about 8 months in at this point. I got so used to the thought of making the movie, I didn't really think about what it would be like to start all over again..
But, I had an idea that was burning a hole in my brain that I really wanted to write. So the first thing I did was crank out a script in about 2 weeks and off I went to meet with these investors to pitch them my film. I flew in on a Sunday morning, pitched my film that night and I was back on a plane the next morning. A week later.. we had enough money to go into production.
It was kind of a whirlwind-- I wrote the script the 3rd week in Decemeber. By the 1st week of February, we had our financing and we were on set the first week of April. Right now we're in post and things are looking really great. We've been taking a different approach to this film as opposed to Madison, in terms of marketing. We've kind of kept it under the radar. But I'm excited to get the first official poster and trailer out there! This is a completely different film from anything I've ever tried to make. It's very Hitchcock and it's something I'm really proud of. To say it was the toughest experience of my life is an understatement.. But then again, I'm only 23
Next on my plate, after finishing post, I just finished writing the script for my next film that I was hired to write for a producer that approached me right before I started shooting Roadside. The first draft was turned in a few days ago and was given the okay. Looks like I'll be back on set at the end of the year! I'll post up details on that film when I can if anyone is interested! Below are the first official stills from ROADSIDE as well as some temporary TEASER ART! More information can be found at our Facebook Page, Bloody-Disgusting and my Personal Blog! Enjoy!
"The film is a high concept thriller that finds Dan Summers and his pregnant wife, Mindy, in a fight for their lives when they are held hostage in their car by an unseen gunman on the side of a desolate mountain road."
