FEATURE: Rise of the Beast-the new feature from STARS Pictures

The rough cut can be found here. The blur at the end will have the company's contact info and logo. I also plan on smoothing out the music at the end. Other thoughts?

One week to go!
We start shooting this Saturday and will be taking care of the greenscreen elements of the car chase. Then Sunday we will be shooting the big crowd scenes, hopefully with 100 extras. We'll see what happens.
I came up with a new DIY camera rig today. Using the same tripod as my steadypod, I figured out how to turn it into a shoulder mount. Works pretty well too! I can't wait to put it to use.

Just got done building a softbox for my halogens using PVC and a shower curtain. It's cheap, and it works great! Pictures to come =D

Hey Chris, read about the drive issues. Are you using firewire drives? If so what kind of cable are you using. Drop the cash on the Belkin cables. You'll be happier in the long run. I tried some cheap FW cables I bought on eBay for my old DVPV100 (we didn't use the DVX for editing) and when I plugged it in to the G4 the whole computer shut down and wouldn't start back up. I found it was the cables. I used my old Belkin and it had no problem. Eventually I got savy and took the drives out of the cases and simply put them in my computer and have had no problem since. If you're using a firewire drive the cables may be the issue.

And yea, I'm using my apartment too for my film. My character lives in my apartment. Check that out. We start shooting late August/early September. And I saw your extras casting on Facebook. Let us know how it went.

I LOVE "Cheap and works great" It is the way to do it!
Amen to that!

Unfortunately they're not firewire. These are some USB 2.0 Seagates. I'll look into the cables though. I think I have some other nice ones I can use. We'll see how that goes.
I've done the harddrive conversion before too. About six years ago I bought an external 120GB harddrive. It worked great for a while until the power supply went out on it. I thought all was lost-it had a bunch of my early shorts. About two years ago I realized I could pull it out of the case, stuck it in Frankenstien, and it's been great =)

Mine lives in my place too. When we were looking at funding, it was going to be built as a set, but now that it's self financed, we're using my place, which is the same loft from the first film. Good luck with your shoot, I'll be following it!

isn't it great? And neither one match. The one on the left my parents got when they got married. I moved out and they gave it to me. The one I'm laying on was given to me by some old neighbors. It used to be one pattern, but I pulled off the cover from the back. lol. It has character!

Just spoke with Ariel Cansino again and she said she'd love to play the part! So this is cool-My two leads from "Wulf", the final girl and the killer, are now both going to be working with me again playing my main bad guys. Plus my lead from "Leap" is back as well. I couldn't ask for a better cast!

Had to ride my bike six miles today to pick up special effects makeup from The Display House, a local costume shop that I've used for the last seven years on all my films. I picked up a bruise pallet and scar wax. Here's a test for some "after-a-fight" makeup and the chips

When I first saw that pic I was hoping it was special effects. I thought you were going to say you rode your bike somewhere and fell. So I guess the kit works. Good work.

Thanks! Any thoughts on the chip bump? I've done the bruise makeup before, but I'm new to trying to place something under the skin
