rip dvd's

Hey, I know this may be the wrong forum, but thought I'd get someone here faster. Has anyone ever 'ripped' footage from a DVD? If so, what program did you use and are there freeware programs for this? I only need to do it once or so for a wedding I'm doing. The photo montage is already on a dvd and I have to get it into FCP. I know the no brainer way is to just play it out of a dvd player into FCP, but I though I'd see if there were any programs. Thanks!

HP DVD will do it. It came on my hp pavilion computer.

Thanks Bill, it works great! Thing is, I can't seem to rip the audio file, oh well can't have it all!

I had to edit this thing for for Yue Sai Kan's world and had to use footage from a DVD. I used smart ripper and VOB2AVI utility and had both audio and video.
