My long awaited dolly arrived and hey it came with a seat that has 4 position locations, both tracks and dolly can be reconfigured to fit throught a doorway when required, custom carrying cases for tracks and dolly system, extra supports, and other goodies.

My first setup (I got all straight track 21ft.)

These next two photos came included from manufacturer showing optional round track sections.

Who makes that bad boy?

Its from Indie Dolly Systems. EVS is listed as one of their dealers now on their website. http://www.indiedolly.com

Pricing varies according to your requirements, but the base model with 12ft of track included and cases was 1350. The extra track sections are 125 ea. I got three and they gave me an extra case for those as well.

Hello to this forum again as I haven't posted for over a year.

Thanks Craig for posting picures of the new "Indie Dolly Curved track dolly" (works on straight and curved track)
I wanted to add something regarding the price, Craig has been waiting extremely patiently and ended up paying quite a bit more than usual for shipping, so he received a discount. The Introduction price of this new dolly is US$1499.- and that includes 12 feet of track and custom carrying bags for dolly and track.
$1599.- includes the Dolly plus 4 sections of curved track (also in bags).
I thought I would clarify that in order not to cause any confusion down the line.

Thanks,

Helmut

Well now. I've been looking at the Glideshot rigs but it looks like I've got some thinking to do now. This one definitely has portability going for it, as well as straight/curved track versatility.

Of course the main question is how well does each one work. I guess I'm relying on testimonials here and maybe some footage if it comes up.

I've only ever used a full-blown dolly (during one shoot) in a film school studio, so may I ask, what is the means of propulsion on this one? Can you use your feet to scamper along in a smooth way, or do you need a helper to push you along?

Thanks.

... I don't mean to hijack Craigs post here but I thought I would try to answer this one.
This Dolly comes with 2 "seat Supports". It's the black part with the silver tightening handle that the seat sits on (made of high quality stainless steel btw) Craig put them on top of each other in order to raise the seat up but one reason why we include 2 of those is that one can be used as a push handle when placed on one of the 4 points that the seat can be placed at. It's not a big push handle that some people may want to see but it certainly fits into the bag easily and it can also fill other functions besides being a push-handle. For example, one could place a second seat on it and can then actually have 2 people (operator & focus puller) sitting on the dolly ( We will have a video tutorial that will show that very simple but quite revolutionary aspect of this dolly). And yes, you will need somebody pushing the dolly unless you are just walking along with it while pushing it yourself.

thanks,

Helmut

Yes it can. You want to make sure though when putting that much weight on the track, that the little yellow custom shims are placed under the track to keep it from bending.

Saw the picture of the dolly in the bag on the indiedolly web site. Does the dolly and straight track still all fit in one bag?

your girlfriend must be just as happy with you as mine is with me.. Dolly track running from the kitchen to the bathroom and jib arm making its home in the front entrance-way. Good stuff.

The clip isn't loading for me, either.

I'm guessing you guys are on Macs with new QT7 but not latest OS release. This problem has cropped up with a few Macs at work running QT7 but not the ones running the absolute current OS and and a QT 7 file comes from a Windows version running AVC version of H.264

Here's clip using older Sorenson 3 codec fer ya!

That's only the guest bathroom, and hey it's not as bad as the living room..
