DOC: Ride:Well - A Feature Documentary about Cyclists, Clean Water, and Hope

After a 2,000 mile drive in a couple 15-passenger vans, we arrived in San Diego (from Minneapolis) to begin shooting a documentary covering 4 cross-country cycling tours raising money for organizations like Blood:Water Mission and International Justice Mission for health and hope around the world.

This will be my first feature-length project and I'm pretty excited about it. I'll try to keep this thread updated as much as possible over the next 2 and a half months of filming, and then the next couple months of post-production and (hopefully) distribution.

Thanks, guys.

Sorry for the delay on updating things. Long days of shooting, then working on other projects in free time (including a script for an upcoming narrative feature, Survival, which Jeremiah Rounds just completed a few days ago on his way back to Vegas).

I'm hoping to get some rough clips up in the next week or so of the beginning of the tour in San Diego, but for now here are some screengrabs/BTS shots.

And here's a shot of Jeremiah's GH1 rigged up for a timelapse. We're pretty stoked on the results, so hopefully we'll be able to share them soon.

That timelapse rig looks pretty ghetto, but the results were pretty arse kicking, imho.
Almost three hours on the back of a bike traveling over 20 miles. Pretty cool.

Agreed.

Also: Just got to Seattle last night. Gearing up to work on the next segment, following a team going from Seattle to New York City.

Photos and clips to come soon, Lord willing.

I'll also try to get a post up soon about equipment.

Here are a couple screengrabs from the San Diego shoot:

Also, still need to do a post about equipment, but for now here's a look at the main rig I'm using:

Really liking the results with this setup.

Had some time in Seattle after the riders left to get a time lapse from Kerry Park.

I think this is my first true timelapse with a DSLR. Not perfect, but I'm excited about the possibilities with timelapse on a 7D.
