Richard Petty Commercial w/5D

I like how you told the story. shaky footage etc.

But I would like to see some color grading in it.
Something like this perhaps

Perhaps not the best choice of camera for this type of shooting. Way too much jello. See if you can fix it with the plugin from the foundry.

Other than the jello, I loved it. Definitely gives you that "rush".

For what ever its worth

For what ever its worth

I like it just the way it is John. The jello doesn't bother me at all. I actually think it adds to the feeling of excitement and rumbling of the car etc..
roaring down the track.

I didn't feel looking at it that grading was really needed either. I'm not saying it would hurt but didn't feel it needed it from watching it. The whole look and feel made me want to try it.

If I were the client, my goal would be simply, make a commercial that get peoples attention and makes them want to come out and drive the car.

I believe you accomplished that. I've seen the track a million times when I've visited Disney with my kids and always wondered what it would be like to drive one of those cars.

I also wondered what it would cost, now I know.

Great job.

Dude...that ALL looked good. It's funny ...but the only people you will find talk about jello/rolling shutter are in these forums. Show that on TV or anywhere else and it wouldn't be an issue. The footage all looked good....especially when shaking. It made mee feel the excitement.

I like it as well, simple execution.

I too don't see any ill effects the jello has on this piece. Is it there, yes. Would anyone but people pouring over the image ever notice it? Probably not.

I used the 24 Tilt/Shift on some of the chase shots when I was shooting car to car. I literally hung the camera out the window at around 160mph, I hung on very tight! A lot was edited out due to time, so maybe the effect is lost? I used a 50mm 1.4 on the shifting shots.

Thanks again for the comments.

The shaking was intentional. We wanted to say speed and excitement, and at the speeds I was traveling it wasn't hard to get, so no apologies there.
I do understand that it bothers some people though.
