COMMERCIAL: Rich with Stories 5 of 7

Hey Rd.

I watched all of the Imperial Odyssey commercials you've made so far and thought I would leave my thoughts on the project overall instead of this specific video. In the future it would probably be better if you would post all the video's in one thread instead of making a new one for each.

First of all it's awesome that you are involved in such an ambitious project. I have to admit watching these video's really gives me an itch to go out and make something sci-fi on such a big scale.

I think this epic'ness of the project is both it's biggest strength and ironically it's biggest fault. It's awesome because people love to be sucked into a world that is vast and filled with possibilities, and it seems that's what you guys are going for.

The big problem is, it doesn't all seem to fit together. Each of your video's features scenes from pieces that don't seem to fit together. One minut it seems to be a space piece, then it seems to be a modern military piece, then suddenly there's ninjas. Not to mention each scene is colored differently, which only adds to the chaotic and unorganized feel of the whole thing. I get that you guys want to have to freedom to tell many different stories, and that's great, but I think it's important to at least keep them all visually relative to each other.

It's also a tad disappointing that the video series repeat the same shots over and over. I love the concept of the advertising campaign, but unfortunately there's the feel that when you've seen one of the video's you've seen them all. This is of course due to the amount of footage you guys have, so it's understandable, but still disappointing.

Of the video's, I found the "Epic Proportions" one to be the most compelling and visually interesting. I especially love the wide shot of the dueling ninjas. Plus, a map! All good epics need a good map so that made me happy.

I also found the black and white sci-fi scenes to be the most interesting, specifically the man looking out the spaceship and the weird guy with the spikey things on his eyes.

And finally, in the future I would highly suggest getting a good graphic designer. The chosen font and bloom effects for the video's unfortunately has a cheapening quality.

Anyway good luck with everything!
