Need some help in the upper bracket of consumer sliders.
There are three (perhaps more) legitimate choices in the < $1,000.00 bracket.

The first is the 24" Rhino Slider Evo Carbon:

This slider clocks in at US$1,100.00 (excl. postage) including a motion control unit.
The length is 61cm and it weighs 1.8 kg and can hold 6.8kgs.
An added bonus is that the 24" rails can be swapped out for the 48" rails for minimal cost.

The second slider is the Edelkrone Slider Plus:

This slider costs US$1,069.98 (excl. postage) including a motion control unit.
The length is 60cm and it weighs 1.7 kg and can hold 6kgs.
An extra bonus is the design which allows it's compressed size.
A downside is that the extra length is lost if the slider is placed on the ground.

Finally we have the Kessler Pocket Dolly 3:

This slider costs US$1,668.90 (excl. postage) including the elektraDRIVE bundle.
The length is 69.85cm and it weighs 2.4 kg and can hold 6.8kgs.

So which one is the pick of the bunch?

Personally, I cannot imagine paying more than about $300 for a slider, but that's me (see f.ex. a cheaper but as good a slider here). But, if I had to pick one of these for free, I'd go with #1, as it is the most flexible - it is the right length but has an extension capability - while #3 is stuck with one length that can be too long in some situations. Meanwhile #2 is too inflexible as far as being handicapped if not on the tripod.

If portability is most important you may want to go with Edelkrone. I'm making the similar considerations.
I'd like to fit the slider in a backpack.
That it expands as it moves actually gives it a longer length as soft of a dolly as well. You can dolly in/out without the full length without the rails getting into the shot.
I've used a friend's Pocket Dolly and I like the crank handle but portability was an issue as well as the aforementioned dolly limitation.

Probably a smooth shot is at the top of my priorities.
Too many cheap sliders don't provide me what I'm after.
