Peckinpah deserves all the praise due to anyone who can choreograph multiple cameras running at various speeds all while being coked out of his f*ckin' mind!!

I do prefer a sack and not some sappy surreal abstract emotion. I need some depth. I need machismo.

I continued on the same discussion (i.e., originality in today's auteurs) and deduced that machismo=originality in Hudson's mind based on his baseless shift in the topic. I find the mindset that machismo=originality juvenile. The kind of thing I'd expect from a teenage boy, not an experienced filmmaker. Savvy?
I like machismo in my films sometimes as well. No argument there. Some fantastic films have more testosterone than healthy. But I'd hardly use that as a criteria for originality.
A lot of people use songs well in a movie, but other than Lucas and American Grafitti, I can't think of anyone who has made them a character in his movies the way QT does.
There is nothing baseless about it. Gondry is original. Tarantino is original. Ill take Quentins films anyday based purely on having a pulserate above 70 but moreso I find Tarantino to have a better understanding of Mis-en-scene and the language of cinema overall than Gondry does. Gondry gets mad props from me for his bringing a surreal quality to his cinema but his general verite is rudiment as his his body of work.
I got into an argument with an ex girlfriend once and told her to stop acting like a *****. She said 'Don't call me a *****'. I said I didnt call you one, I said you are acting like one.
And should be shot for it!!! :kali: :costumed-smiley-047 (I kid)Blaine said:He catapulted Samuel L. Jackson to stardom.
Come on, the use of Singing in the Raid during Clockwork Orange?
