I love the way they did the shutter button on the handle there. I want to do something similar on my custom shoulder rig and i like how they moved the gear for the follow focus. I want to make it so that my left hand can rotate the handle to pull focus. Similar to the way grip shifters work for a bicycle. Very similarly to the way this rig's follow focus works http://www.engadget.com/2010/05/05/wooden-dslr-shoulder-rig-does-follow-focus-with-a-twist/
ideally i would have a flex drive instead of that linkage seen in the video and it would connect to the square mount where a whip or crank normally would and then transfer the rotation of the handle to the lens with a bit more versatility than that set up.
sadly i lack the woodworking skills to make anything that fantastic out of solid wood. I will have to resort to prebuilt metal components and such.
