Reverse the Focus Ring?

Hello,

I'd like to reverse the direction of the focus right so that way if you push it up the focus is set to farther away. Is this possible? On the A1 there was a setting.. ;(

Me too! It is backwards from the zoom and confuses the heck out of me in run and gun. I hope Panasonic can fix this in a firmware revision.

well that would be cool to be able to change it like you can the IRIS. I like having the iris changed as it's what I was used to as well. For me through down makes a bit more sense on the focus as I've always remembered the rolling out the carpet analogy. As the carpet gets rolled out it gets rolled down, when it gets rolling in (closer) it's rolled up. Always kind of remembered that.. but it would be cool to set it to how we want it to be.

and a firmware update to do timelapse would be IDEAL. That's the only thing I miss and would consider getting a 170 for.. and the framerack hack is nice too.

Thank you for that Justyn. My problem was I had developed a process of thought so that way I would always know what direction to turn it on my A1. Your idea just put a new process of thought in my head. Now I can move on! Thank you!

Next weekend (not this weekend) I'm shooting for a friend with an A1. I'll just set the A1 to match the 150 :)

Glad I could help. I think it's good to have concrete things to guide us instinctively. It's also like dealing with theater and rock people who constantly refer to things as stage left and such and I'm wanting things to be screen left. Just ends up adding to the confusion. Now when I hear Stage, I just know it's opposite to what I want it to be..
