REV Modular Wireless Follow Focus System

These guys seem to have dropped off the radar - I ordered one, but can't seem to get a shipping update. Last I heard they were shipping though - has anyone received their REV yet?

It looks like a hoax, lucky you didn't send any money yet?

I may have spoke to soon, I just got word from Kris that they will be shipping my REV this Friday, I should have it the following week. If everything works out and I get it, I'll be sure to post my product experience.

Yeap we're shipping and close to fulfilling existing orders! It has taken longer to ramp than we'd hoped, but we're getting there! Once we've delivered existing orders we'll continue serious firmware work-- we have quite a few software bells and whistles that need more testing before release. I know our very first customers took a leap of faith- we appreciate that and will make sure we look after you!

Hi all- Apologies for not seeing the replies to this thread sooner-

We've been in heavy development for MK2, working with a small number of very high-end customers to bring system performance to the level they need for motion control system integration (via usb & RS232), and for serious 3d rigs (3-7 motors). Simply put, we figured that ultimate performance, robustness and flexibility was more important than rushing the revised system to market.

The new, MK2 system is finished and the first batch has gone to customers on our waiting list just this past week. Units will be shipping "from stock" on the relaunched website as soon as the next batch arrives.

You can see the performance of the new system here-- www.vimeo.com/rtmotion ... including videos showing the incredible low-speed performance, made possible by the advanced space-vector (sinusoidal) motor driver. It can easily turn one revolution per 30 mins or more, with no "stepping", which we believe is a first in the cinema lens motor world.

Initially, a one-motor kit will be approx £1200 (~$1900), a three motor kit approx £2800. It won't stay that price forever, but we've had a lot of people following us because of the advanced feature-set and price-point, so we're happy to honour the price for the time being.

Hope that brings people up to date a bit! Much more to come, including "Universal" versions of our Receiver (to power 3rd party motors), and of course, motion-control isn't much fun without repeatable moves on hotheads and tracks... more soon :)

Kris
