return to factory settings for name edit, save

sorry for this silly one:

but saved my scene file setting while shooting last night and am now trying to tell dvx 100a NO next to save/init, that is to return to original setting. am trying to follow manual, by pushing and holding button, but no luck. tis a bit frustrating, especially when it says, PUSH STILL, and am not sure what it means.

also, while fiddling, wound up editing and renaming F1 and F2.

how do i get it back to original factory settings, so that it says No next to save and original scene names. all my thanks in advance

Re: return to factory settings for name edit, save

PUSH STILL means to push in the menu joystick button, as if you were using to to go to "still" when playing back video.

All you need to do is go to save/init and choose "INIT", and that should restore your scene file to the initial factory default.

Re: return to factory settings for name edit, save

and yet, barry, when i do that, both SAVE and INITIAL still both say YES, when I want SAVE to say NO, even though i push the menu joystick button in at the word NO. is that right?

thanks in advance for your patience

also, just want to be clear, when we say STILL, we mean PAUSE, right?

also, how do i get
F2 back to its original name?

Re: return to factory settings for name edit, save

again, would appreciate any help on this, though i know it's simple.
should it say YES on evry SAVE and INIT scene file dial setting, even though i dont want it save, and if no, how do i get out of my llittle dilemma. again, thanks

Re: return to factory settings for name edit, save

If you want to restore to INTITIAL DEFAULT settings then select INIT and then SELECT YES.

"how do i get it back to original factory settings, so that it says No next to save and original scene names. all my thanks in advance "

Toggle down little joystick to that line, press in on joystick, then toggle left or right to say YES/NO. Then, back out.
