FS7: Retro inspired MV we shot

I like it overall - nicely shot, decently lit, and great costume & M/U. But, since you did ask for critiques, here they are:

- I think you have about 75-80% of the footage you need to keep engagement for this duration of M/V. I found it started to lose my attention around the 2min mark. Minimalist is one thing, but I think with a little more shooting or post effects, you could improve it's holding-power A LOT. A few possibilities that spring to mind: You use the mirrorball image at the beginning, but it doesn't recur. If you want an easy pickup without calling back the talent then you could shoot some cool mirrorball/smoke-type inserts to keep it varied. If you can get another half-day shoot with the ladies then you could do variations on the gloved-hands shot (pretty cool, but used too often and for too long (I'm thinking feet/boots or ECUs on face details - like your mouth CU, but that would need to do the M/U again).

- The imagery used in the instrumental section (circa 2:45 to the end) doesn't quite match the energy for me. Again you would benefit from something more dynamic here IMHO.

- The grade doesn't do justice to the imagery you've captured. Looks like it's still semi-log, which I know has apparently become 'fashionable' in recent years, and is often considered 'instant-retro', but if you look at real 60s/70s M/Vs then they ALL have true blacks. You'll get rid of all that ugly noise too, just by crushing the blacks below 10-20IRE depending which shot.

- In my opinion (and this is highly subjective), the last shot where you have one of the band swinging her hair with her hand looks a little bit silly, and spoils the nonchalant "we're too cool for you" vibe that drives most of the video. I think even an equally long-duration shot of the ladies all just staring down the lens (ideally with a track out) would work better here.

I hope you don't take offence from my comments, or feel the need to defend yourself. I only bothered thinking about it and writing them down on the assumption you were actually interested in creative criticism.

Nice work.
