Today I shot some footage where I could not use HD, due to the inability to transfer footage fast enough to keep up to the shoot.
This was my first use with the camera.
It seems as though it handles highlights much better that I imagined.
What I did notice was noise in white areas.
This was primarily a high key shoot.
This was standard 24p 480 to tape.
From my limited in-experience with this camera, it seems as if you can not shoot for the highlights. You have to shoot for the shadows and then drop the highlights in post.
The viewfinder is a bad indication of exposure, but I am sure it can be learned what a good exposure, in this camera, looks like.
(I think I was off by a half a stop)
I think from seeing this footage, I will say that I think the end result will be much better if you capture the image in it's highest form, with no "enhancements" such as cine mode etc.
I am starting to believe it is much better to do it in post (any corrections or film color).
That being said, what is the best noise free mode, when it cones to shooting with out all the mosquitoes.
To me it looks like an Anolog to digital conversion issue, that's not what it should/could be..
