Restoring Sony F3 to Version 1.0

Hey Guys,
I've got a electronic problem with the ND filter and before sending it away for repair i'd like to do a complete factory reset on the camera taking it back from v1.4 to 1.0.

I've been told that CVP London can do this but I'd rather not blow £100+ on doing this.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I'm sure there is no need to do this. 'Factory reset' does not mean downgrading firmware for sure, if you want, just reset camera settings and that's it.
