I think I may be out of luck here, but I thought it might be worth a try asking you guys.
I followed the instructions to get MXF files into Avid by copying and pasting the contents of the audio and video folders from a P2 card into the folder \Avid MediaFiles\MXF\1. This worked great. No problem using the files in Avid. I have since reformatted the P2 card to record new shots. At the time, I wasn't aware that Avid could also access the contents of a virtual P2 card if you map it as a network drive. I now prefer that approach as it eases organization of my clips.
My question is this: Is there any way to take the files I pasted into the MXF\1 directory and rebuild them into a directory with the same structure as a P2 card so they can be seen as a P2 card? This would not only let me use them how I want to in Avid, but then I could also access them from the P2 Viewer. P2 Viewer can not read these files as I currently have them stored.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
