I was transferring footage via FCP 6 and the "log and transfer" tool. I have now learned (trolling around this forum) that there are better ways to transfer my footage (copying everything off of the card and pulling it into FCP that way).
But FCP locked up. I had no choice but to restart the machine. It was an unusual thing ... the Force Quit option wouldn't even kill FCP. So I had to restart. The camera was still hooked up when I did this and when I went back to start downloading the footage again the camera says "CHECK CARD." That's it. The SD card icon does not appear on the desktop, nor does it appear in FCP so I can pull the footage off.
I spoke with a friend of mine who said that the card probably still has the data on it, but I can't access it. I downloaded the AVCCAM Restorer application... but that is useless because the card won't appear in the Finder.
I have an Edirol R-09 recorder... it also uses SD cards. I put the problem card into the R-09 to see if the Edirol would read it at the very least, and the Edirol said "Not Formatted."
SO! Does anyone have any ideas that they could share with me? I wish that Disk Utility could fix it for me ... like so many sick hard drives from the past. But I am at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
