Resolve section

+1 for me. Although Davinci Resolve is a Blackmagic product, with V15 it is a fully fledged video editor. I.e. not just add-on software for Blackmagic hardware. I’ve used multiple editors in the last 18 years including Adobe Premiere and a bunch of lesser tools. With that experience, I just switched to Resolved because it’s very easy to use and a wide range of integrated tools. Please set up a Resolve section.

Regards,

Dan.

-1 for me. I don't think we need it. The Blackmagic forums are filled with professionals and programers and is THE go to place when you need help with a Blackmagic product. If a Resolve section got added here, I'd vote that it just link to the official forums like how the Blackmagic Camera section links to BMCuser :)

They wouldn't link to the official Blackmagic website/forum as there's no affiliation.

DVX - BMC - REDuser are all owned by the same person/company (RED's Jarred Land).

Resolve is cross platform, so that's definitely addressing a bigger market than the MacOS-only FCPX. The fact that they matched it price-wise $299, while additionally providing a free version, makes me believe they are a serious about dominating the NLE space. I'm curious if people trained on FCPX will start switching, as that's a different head-space compared to FCP which is more of a natural transition.

You would think so but it can be better. I couldn't get my 1 question answered there, and couldn't help another poster when I had his answer, both for the same reason, waiting for the mods to approve my post because either I am too new or post count is too low. It took days to get my question posted and never answered, and my reply to the other poster still hasn't posted after 2 days. And for that matter, the professionals haven't answered him either. To be fair, they do get back to you if you email support, but not if you post in the community forums. So +1 for a forum here.

And while on the subject of Experts and Professionals, there is NO ONE more helpful and professional than Barry Green who I would like to acknowledge with a shout-out for something he did for me years ago when I mentioned in this forum not receiving his free book included with my purchase of one of the first AG-AC90 Panasonic 1080p60 camcorders, when in my mailbox one day showed my copy sent from his address. I'll never forget that. Thanks Barry! Plus, it was a great book!

Agreed. If you don’t pay for your creative cloud subscription long enough they start sending you offers for $20 a month instead of the usual $50 price. Pass, I’ve
now switched over to doing my work in Resolve, and I’m on the free version. I’ll switch to the paid version in the fall, certain features are missing in the free
version that I really need.

Having just cancelled CC myself, I was curious if they would sweeten the deal. Apparently they will and do.
